ANTIFOAM is a broad-spectrum silicone defoaming agent that is composed of an aqueous emulsion of polydimethylsiloxane fluids, and which has many and diverse industrial applications. Unlike many other silicone-based products, ANTIFOAM may be used in highly acidic or highly alkaline water systems. ANTIFOAM has low viscosity which simplifies dispensability and foam control. ANTIFOAM is ideal for use in fountains, circulating water systems, textile dyeing, pulp dewatering systems for manufacturing paper products, boiler water defoaming, sewage aeration, settling ponds, etc.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Concentrations of between 100 and 500 parts per million (i.e. 1:2000-1:10,000) will be effective in controlling foam (depending on the application as some situations will call for much higher doses). To determine the most effective concentration, dose initially at a rate of 300 parts per million (i.e. roughly 1:3000) and monitor the results, increasing or decreasing the dose rate until the desired foam control is achieved. NB: ANTIFOAM is NOT suitable for defoaming applications involving solvents and oils. Always agitate or stir ANTIFOAM before use.
